About Geoff Francis
Geoff Francis is an award-winning photographer and Saatchi-shortlisted artist with a strong following. Considered to be highly collectible, his work has found a home with a number of prominent figures in the music, ballet, theatre, film, educational and charity sectors.
Geoff has had a life-long love affair with the Jurassic coast in Dorset. It is here that he feels he found his voice as an artist, and was particularly inspired by his collaborations with Anna Macmiadhachain, a renowned ‘Naïve’ artist.
Geoff has been a full-time artist and photographer for over 20 years. Entirely self-taught, his eye has not been constrained by more conventional approaches and has its own natural freedom. Classed as expressionist, his work has been compared with the likes of Turner, Rothko, Freud, Chagall and Bacon. He is influenced and inspired by his connections to Purbeck and its landscape, as can be seen in his highly regarded ‘Studland Series’ of paintings.

Geoff holds a strong ethical position, preferring to use found and recycled materials where possible. His work often portrays some aspect of our relation to this planet and all those who live on it. He is also a published writer, lyricist and poet, as well as film-maker plus Creative Director of Bonobo TV, a not-for-profit internet TV station.
